Security Guard/Banksman

We currently have an opportunity for an EXPERIENCED Security Guard / Banksman. This is a great opportunity for an SIA qualified, customer focused individual to join a growing team of security industry professionals. JSS have a large portfolio of clients across the UK and has been growing exponentially over the past 12 months.

This position requires an individual with high personal standards who has good leadership skills, the role also requires the security guard to be a proactive customer focused individual with an eye for detail and the ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels. The successful candidate needs to be a forward thinker with a methodical approach, exceptional planning, and excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to cope when being challenged.

Role Responsibility

As a Security Guard / Banksman you will be responsible for:

- Guard Reception and Vehicle access registration

- Regular patrols of the site and buildings to ensure it is secure

- Dealing with system alarm activations

- Signing in and out colleagues, contractors, and other visitors to site

- Appropriately recording and reporting any incidents or concerns to the Security Supervisor and Business Support Lead

- Supporting any other parts of the business as and when required

- Ensuring that the Assignment Instructions for the site and the role are fully adhered to

- Supporting site emergency drills and helping develop improvements to site security and procedures

- Provide extremely high levels of customer service to contractors, visitors, and occupants of the site.

- Provide operational cover as and when required to support the security team on site:

- Access control (Visitors/Contractors/Deliveries)

- Carry out Stop and Search, (Vehicle/Personnel)

- Checking materials leaving site is correctly authorised

- Operation of site weigh-bridge and tracking systems (when required)

- Control entry to site vehicles and pedestrians

- Assist in the investigation of onsite incidents and accidents, such as thefts, fire, trespass etc. Including accurate reporting and after incident lessons learnt (training will be provided).

Banksman (on completion of training, rotational duty)

- Directing movement of vehicles and equipment on the work site

- Recommending and laying out safe on-site traffic systems

- Keeping people and vehicles apart

- Providing clear, correct, and safe directions to plant operators

- Communicating with drivers and plant operators verbally and by radio and/or industry standard hand signals.

Experience / Skills

- Current Security Guard / Door Supervisor SIA License

- Good leadership skills and the ability to take control in an emergency situation -

- Computer literate (training for their internal computer systems will be provided)

- Experience of working within security industry either as a lone worker or as part of a team

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to report and record events as they occur

- Confident to communicate security protocols to those who may be unaware

- Ability to accurately check details and confirm it is valid

- Smart, reliable, watchful, hardworking, patient, diligent, diplomatic

- Proactive, able to use one’s initiative and seek guidance where necessary

- Previous experience as a security guard

- Previous experience of working in an office environment or within a professional organisation

- Good organisational skills and well-honed ability to follow procedures

- Good people skills and ability to get on well with others whilst remaining professional

- Client and customer interface

Hours: 48 hours per week (4 Days On - 4 Days Off - 4 Nights On - 4 Days Off etc.)

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £10.55
