Mobile Patrol Driver (Keyholding & Alarm Response) — SIA Licensed
Apollo Security Division | London & Hertfordshire (Enfield / Stevenage base + local sites)
Role type: Full-time / Part-time (shift-based, including nights & weekends)
Pay: £13.30 PAYE (double time pay on bank holidays)
Apollo Security Division is a family-run security company with over a decade of heritage.
We’re hiring Mobile Patrol Driver’s to carry out scheduled patrols plus keyholding and alarm response. This is a hands-on role for someone calm, reliable, and confident working independently with support from our 24/7 control room.
The Role (Keyholding + Alarm Response Included)
You’ll be responsible for mobile patrols across multiple sites, responding to alarm activations, and handling client keys securely and professionally. You’ll be a visible deterrent, a first responder, and a trusted representative of Apollo on client premises.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Mobile patrols & security checks Complete scheduled mobile patrols across assigned client locations.
- Carry out perimeter checks and (where authorised) internal checks: doors, windows, gates, shutters, access points, and vulnerable areas.
- Identify and act on risks such as trespass, vandalism, suspicious behaviour, insecure doors/gates, and safety hazards.
- Provide a strong, professional presence and reassurance to clients and site users.
Keyholding & alarm response (core part of the job)
- Respond to alarm activations promptly and follow site instructions and control room tasking.
- Conduct dynamic risk assessments on arrival and take appropriate action.
- Attend callouts, access premises using client keys, and secure sites after checks.
- Liaise with police/emergency services when required and provide clear updates to the control room.
- Follow strict keyholding procedures with a high level of accountability and attention to detail.
Incident handling & reporting
- Manage incidents calmly and professionally, prioritising safety and correct escalation.
- Complete accurate patrol logs and incident reports (including times, actions taken, and outcomes).
- Escalate urgent issues immediately (security breaches, damage, hazards, repeated activations).
Vehicle, equipment & standards
- Drive safely and responsibly at all times (you represent Apollo while on the road).
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete basic checks (fuel, tyres, lights, defects).
- Maintain uniform and presentation standards and deliver excellent customer service.
Requirements (Essential)
- Valid SIA licence (Guarding or Door Supervision — confirm on application).
- Full UK driving licence (clean or near-clean).
- Comfortable working nights/weekends on a rota and responding to callouts.
- Strong communication skills (verbal + written) and confidence dealing with the public.
- Able to work independently, follow procedures, and make sensible decisions under pressure.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo screening).
- Physically able to conduct patrols (walking checks, stairs, outdoor checks in all weather).
Desirable (Nice to have)
- Experience in mobile patrols, keyholding, alarm response, or similar security roles.
- Experience using patrol/incident reporting apps or QR patrol systems.
- Experience in healthcare, education, or local authority sites.
