SIA Stadium Security Officer – Job Description

Job Purpose

A Stadium Security Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of supporters, staff, and players during football matches and large‑scale events. You are the first point of contact for fans entering the stadium and are responsible for crowd safety, access control, and maintaining a secure matchday environment.

Job Overview

In this role, you will work as part of the stadium’s matchday security team to manage crowd movement, monitor stands and concourses, support safety operations, and respond to incidents quickly and professionally. You will help maintain a safe, enjoyable atmosphere for all supporters.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage entry points, conduct ticket checks, and monitor crowd flow
• Carry out stadium patrols across stands, concourses, turnstiles, and perimeter areas
• Ensure the safety of supporters, staff, and players throughout the event
• Assist with evacuation procedures and follow stadium safety protocols
• Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or medical emergencies
• Record and report incidents accurately using company procedures
• Provide clear directions and assistance to fans in a polite, professional manner
• Support the Safety Officer and Control Room with real‑time information
• Monitor for prohibited items and enforce stadium regulations
• Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support matchday operations

Requirements

• Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor preferred for stadium work)
• Valid level two in spectators safety certificate, or working towards your level two.
• Right to work in the UK
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work within safety procedures
• Good physical fitness and stamina for long periods on foot
• Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times
• Calm, confident, and able to defuse conflict situations
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in loud, high‑pressure, fast‑moving environments
