Description
The Vacancy: We have a vacancy for a Controller in our state of the art, air-conditioned, 24-hour BS 7499 Control Room at our new Southampton office in Nursling. The Controller’s role involves monitoring our Security Officers welfare across the Country via the use of our electronic management systems, communicating with our Security Officers, receiving Alarm activations and communicating with Emergency Services and Alarm Companies and directing Response Officers to deal with activations and incidents.
The Control Room is the hub of our company and has state of the art technology, air handling system, air conditioning, video wall, free beverages, a controllable lighting system to allow your desired lux levels and even a blue light LED system to keep you feeling refreshed.
The Control Room operates on a shift system which is 3 days, 3 nights and 3 off. The shift times are 0630hrs to 1900hrs and 1830hrs to 0700hrs (30-minute paid handover per shift) therefore an average of 58.5 hours per week.
The ideal candidate: Will:
- Hold a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Have a good understanding of IT to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Have the ability to meet targets and prioritise events efficiently in a calm and controlled manner
- Be Willing to learn new skills and procedures
- Have experience of working in a Control Room environment would be beneficial.
- Be able to meet the screening requirement of BS 7858
Reward:
- A rate of pay of £12.50 per hour therefore circa £38,000.00 per annum
