Job Title: Security Officer
Location: Bristol City Centre
Pay rate: £15 - £16 per hour
Shifts - Days, Nights & Weekends - 8 - 12 hour shifts
Available from August 2025

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and professional Security Officer to join our team at a busy and dynamic residential/commercial site. This is a vital role requiring vigilance, empathy, and professionalism in equal measure.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents, staff, and visitors
Identify and appropriately respond to safeguarding concerns, including signs of cuckooing, exploitation, or drug-related activity
Produce clear and concise situation reports (SITREPs) and incident reports as required
Provide initial support for individuals experiencing distress or crisis, using Mental Health First Aid awareness and appropriate de-escalation/signposting techniques
Confidently handle antisocial behaviour or challenging individuals, using sound judgement to escalate when necessary
Maintain regular communication and positive working relationships with the on-site management team, ensuring smooth handovers and awareness of both building and resident issues
Engage professionally and empathetically with people at all levels – from vulnerable residents to senior stakeholders
Requirements:
Valid SIA Licence Door Supervisor or Security Guarding
Valid CCTV Licence
Strong report-writing and communication skills
Proven experience dealing with safeguarding or similar environments
Mental Health First Aid awareness/training (or willingness to complete)
Experience in de-escalation and conflict resolution
Team player with a proactive and calm approach
Right to work in the UK
Excellent concentration skills
Communicate clearly with team members and people
Desirable
Experience working in supported housing, community services, or high-risk environments
Knowledge of safeguarding protocols and ability to recognise indicators of abuse, exploitation, or neglect
