Event Security Officers – Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park (Seasonal)

Hours: Shift-based (days/evenings/overnights; weekdays & weekends)
Pay: £ 13.50 per hour + holiday pay
Start date: From 13th November  (induction & site briefings provided)

About the role

Join Ministry Protective’s event team at one of London’s biggest festive attractions. As an Event Security Officer, you’ll deliver safe, welcoming experiences for millions of visitors while protecting people, property, and the reputation of this world-class event.

Key responsibilities

Provide a visible, professional security presence across entrances, attractions, bars, and crowd flow areas.

Conduct polite but thorough bag searches and screening in line with site SOPs.

Manage queues and crowd movement, including lane setup, pinch-point control, and emergency egress.

Deliver customer service with a smile—offer directions, assist families, support vulnerable guests, and handle lost property.

Monitor and de-escalate conflict using communication and approved techniques; call for support when required.

Operate radios/body-cams and complete concise incident and refusal logs.

Enforce site policies (alcohol, age restrictions, prohibited items) fairly and consistently.

Support welfare checks for colleagues and guests in cold weather conditions.

What you’ll need

Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential).

Right to work in the UK and age 18+.

Availability across peak dates (evenings, weekends, New Year period).

Confident communicator with strong customer-care skills and a calm, professional manner.

Physically able to stand for long periods and work outdoors in winter conditions.

Reliable timekeeping, smart presentation, and teamwork.

First Aid at Work, ACT/Protect training, previous large-event or festival experience, counter-terrorism awareness, BS7858 vetting history.

Uniform & kit

You’ll need: black tactical trousers, black polishable boots, black base layers, and warm layers.

Vetting

Employment is subject to identity/right-to-work checks and event screening (up to BS7858 standard where applicable). References will be required.
