Role Summary
Lead the Security Team and role model the appropriate values and standards. Act as a deputy for the Security Manager/ Head of Security as required, which will involve attending meetings and representing the customer. Become highly trained and demonstrate people leadership and specialist security skills to support consistent performance. The ability to collaborate and influence in all directions is crucial, with a confident and focused approach.
Ensure the safety and security of people, property and assets at our customer sites. Effective communication skills and great presentation are crucial when interacting with customers and the public. Being visible, professional and responsive supports the success of the security function. Identify risks, threats, hazards and take appropriate action in line with Assignment Instructions and relevant policy to protect customers organisation and reputation. Engage with continuous training and technology as the security environment evolves
Responsibilities
- Lead the Security Team, supporting recruitment, induction, and training.
- Coordinate and oversee the security operation, ensuring smooth daily delivery.
- Respond to incidents in line with customer policies and procedures, escalating where required, and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
- Deliver focused communication and team briefs to ensure operational execution.
- Validate standards, provide feedback to Officers, and support action plans for improvement.
- Plan rotas and holidays, ensuring relevant systems are accurate and up to date.
- Ensure officers are correctly presented at all times, including uniform, PPE, and valid SIA badge.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and engage positively with all stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and customer policies.
- Manage and maintain security systems and equipment, including daily key/equipment audits, use of access control, CCTV and alarm monitoring, and regular system testing.
- Deter crime and anti-social behaviour through vigilance, awareness, and intelligence-led actions.
- Conduct internal and external patrols as required.
- Collaborate effectively with the Emergency Services, including supporting the detection and preservation of evidence.
- Support the customer’s culture and follow any reasonable requests.
