    Kingdom Local Authority Support (Kingdom)  is the leading, most experience and largest supplier to Local Authorities  and are currently recruiting for Community Safety Warden for our customer based in Swindon. The successful post holder must ensure that the impact of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and nuisance on residents and others within Swindon is controlled using appropriate enforcement powers, negotiation, and practical knowledge.

    This is a temporary assignment with the potential of turning into a permanent, working in Swindon, SN1 area.

    Hours: On average 37.5 hours per week, shifts as per site rota. Monday to Sunday 13:00pm - 23:30pm or to suit needs of the business.

    Salary: £13.00 per hour. 

    Own transport is required & Full UK licence, mileage allowance 25p per mile - first 10 miles each way will be deducted from all mileage.

    Job Purpose

    To provide a visible foot patrol presence in key ASB hotpots in Swindon. To identify, investigate and effectively deal with breaches of legislation through appropriate written or verbal advice warnings, notices, and legal action in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures. Work outside of normal office hours, from time to time, to investigate ASB breaches and facilitate joint working with the Police and other agencies. Coordinating a multi agency response from a variety of internal and external partners and where appropriate devising a plan of action. To build relationships and regularly work in partnership with local enforcement partners, statutory organisations and internal colleagues to share information and carry out joint enforcement tasking exercises. To ensure 

     

    The key roles of this post will include:

    • To assist in the preparation of the service and enforcement of legal notices under the Anti Social Behaviour Crime and Police Act 2014 and any other legislation that is appropriate to secure the main purpose of the role.
    • To follow up and revisit where informal and formal action has been taken, checking progress and next steps and to follow through on any legal notice served.
    • To carry out recorded interviews under the provisions of the Police and criminal Evidence ACT 1984 (PACE) (as amended). To Take Witness Statements and gather and preserve evidence for use during investigations and in legal proceedings.
    • Foot patrols of on and off-street areas, inspecting public areas, identifying contraventions, and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices using a handheld terminal (EDA - Electronic Digital Assistant) or manual systems when necessary, reporting any environmental, Anti-social behaviour and community safety problems to relevant departments where appropriate.
    • Maintain accurate records of activities, Fixed Penalty Notices issued, and evidence required for court proceedings.
    • Attend Court proceedings to support prosecutions where required.
    • Maintain a suitable level of knowledge of relevant legislation (including but not limited to Cleaner Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005, Environmental Protection Act 1990, PACE 1984, RIPA 2000)
    • Undertake administrative duties as required, ensuring that correct audit procedures and security arrangements are followed.
    • Synchronise FPN (Fixed Penalty Notice) and photographic evidence from handheld terminals and/or digital cameras.
    • Download and manage video evidence from Body-Worn Video Devices.
    • Such other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade of the post.

    Learning and Development:

    We have an informative and practical course aimed at aspiring environmental officers, our training gives a greater insight into the daily duties required to become an environmental enforcement officer, current Legislation and the communication and interaction aspect of the role.  We engage participation via practical activities, the use of videos and observations whilst gaining a recognised qualification in environmental awareness.

    You will receive a contract of employment from your employer separately.

    You will receive your pay weekly on a Friday from Brooklands PM (PSP) Payroll Services Provider.

    You will not be working for Kingdom Service Group directly, although will have the opportunity to request your temporary agreement to be transferred to a Kingdom Contract in the future.
