Security Officer - London (Data Centre)

We are seeking a well-presented, dependable and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Security Officer in a Data Centre. The successful candidate will be confident, approachable and capable of working with access control systems. They will possess strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm and professional at all times. Responsibilities

• Access Control – Ensure only authorised staff, visitors and contractors enter restricted areas.
• CCTV & Alarm Monitoring – Monitor security systems and respond immediately to alarms or suspicious activity.
• Security Patrols – Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the data centre.
• Visitor & Contractor Management – Check identification, issue passes and maintain accurate access records.
• Incident & Emergency Response – Respond to security incidents, fire alarms, emergencies and potential security breaches.
• Prevent Unauthorised Access – Remain vigilant for tailgating, unauthorised entry and other physical security threats.
• Accurate Reporting – Maintain detailed security logs and complete clear incident reports.
• Follow Security Procedures – Strictly follow site SOPs, Assignment Instructions and escalation procedures.
• Professionalism & Confidentiality – Maintain confidentiality and a professional security presence at all times.
• Shift Handover – Provide accurate handovers, communicating incidents, outstanding issues and important site information.

Requirements

• Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is desirable
• Knowledge of CCTV systems and monitoring techniques
• Experience with access control systems is essential (Gallagher, Genetec, Paxton, SALTO, etc.)
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively
• Professional appearance and demeanour
• Flexibility to work various shifts as required
• Valid SIA license
• Authorised to work in the UK
• Data Centre experience is mandatory
