Security Officer – Hellenic Compound

Position: Security Officer Location: Hellenic Compound / High-Voltage Substation
4 On 4 Off Days and Nights 0700 - 1900 and 1900 - 0700

Job Overview

Lingwood Security is seeking professional and reliable Security Officers to provide security cover at a Hellenic compound and associated working areas.

The Security Officer will be responsible for protecting the compound, plant, equipment and stored materials, preventing unauthorised access and identifying and reporting any security concerns.

Due to the location within an operational high-voltage substation, strict site safety procedures must be followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Day Duties

· Monitor the agreed site entrance and control access.

· Check visitors, contractors and deliveries with the site team before allowing access.

· Maintain accurate records of visitors and deliveries.

· Monitor the compound, plant, equipment and stored materials.

· Identify and report any suspicious activity or unauthorised access.

· Ensure access routes remain clear for emergency services.

· Report any security, safety or access concerns to the Site Manager.

· Maintain accurate site records and complete all required documentation.

Night Duties & Shutdown Periods

· Check that gates, fencing, access points and storage areas are secure.

· Carry out regular patrols along agreed and authorised safe routes.

· Monitor for signs of theft, damage, fire, vandalism or unauthorised entry.

· Pay particular attention to stored plant, tools, cable drums, copper, fuel and other valuable materials.

· Maintain a detailed shift log.

· Complete an appropriate handover at the end of each shift.

· Report incidents and concerns through the agreed emergency contact procedures.

· Provide security cover during weekends and the Christmas shutdown in accordance with the agreed contract hours.

· Complete lone worker safety check calls.

Site Safety – Critical Requirement

The Security Officer must not enter restricted areas or approach, touch or interfere with electrical equipment.

All guards must:

· Remain within authorised areas.

· Follow the site induction and all Hellenic/Lingwood instructions.

· Only use agreed and authorised patrol routes.

· Maintain a safe distance from electrical equipment.

· Never interfere with electrical infrastructure, cables or plant.

· Report any hazards immediately.

· Never put themselves at risk when dealing with an incident.

· Wear mandatory PPE at all times

The successful Security Officer should be:

· Professional and reliable.

· Vigilant with strong observational skills.

· Confident communicating with visitors, contractors and site personnel.

· Able to complete accurate written reports and site records.

· Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

· Able to follow strict site safety procedures.

· Physically capable of carrying out agreed patrols.

· Calm and professional when dealing with incidents.

· Willing to work days, nights, weekends and shutdown periods as required.

· CSCS card - Please note, CSCS cards are required – this is non-negotiable

Full site induction will be conducted prior to role commencing, including lone worker protocols and instruction oin using site specific equipment to aid patrols and safety.
