Working as part of a dedicated security team, you will help maintain public access and safety along approximately half a mile of roadway that is home to 13 diplomatic locations and a number of ultra-high-net-worth private residences.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the safe and orderly use of the roadway while maintaining appropriate public access.
- Observe the environment continuously and identify unusual, suspicious or criminal behaviour.
- Provide a visible security presence to deter crime, anti-social behaviour and unauthorised activity.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, concerns and emergencies in accordance with site procedures.
- Conduct regular patrols and monitor designated areas, access points and the surrounding environment.
- Engage courteously with residents, diplomatic personnel, visitors, contractors and members of the public.
- Report incidents, observations and hazards accurately, completing clear written records where required.
- Work closely with colleagues, supervisors, emergency services and relevant stakeholders to maintain a coordinated security operation.
- Protect the privacy and confidentiality of residents and diplomatic locations at all times.
- Follow all site instructions, security protocols, health and safety requirements, and lawful management directions.
Skills and Experience
- A calm, alert and professional approach, with strong situational awareness.
- Excellent observational skills and the confidence to challenge or escalate concerns appropriately.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work reliably as part of a team and independently when required.
- A discreet, respectful and customer-focused manner suited to a high-profile residential and diplomatic environment.
- Good judgement, integrity and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
- Previous security, guarding, patrol or public-facing experience is desirable.
Pay and Shift Pattern
Hourly rate: £14.95 per hour.
Shift pattern: The role follows a structured rotating schedule comprising 7 consecutive 12-hour day shifts, followed by 3 days off, then 7 consecutive 12-hour night shifts, followed by a further 3 days off.
Working Expectations
This is a public-facing, site-based role that may involve extended periods of standing and walking outdoors in varying weather conditions. The postholder must be prepared to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays where required, and must consistently present a smart, professional appearance.
