Description
TEAM LEADER
At TriGuard, we believe security goes beyond simply monitoring sites. It is about creating a safe, secure and supportive environment for the people who rely on our services.
We are looking for a proactive, dependable and confident Team Leader to support the delivery of our services across supported housing locations.
This is a hands-on, operational role. You will work primarily on-site during nights and weekends, providing frontline security and Care Warden duties while also acting as a senior point of contact for colleagues working across our services.
You will be expected to lead by example, support colleagues, respond to operational issues and ensure that our standards are maintained throughout the out-of-hours period.
“Our mission is to protect their mission.”
As a Team Leader, you will play an important part in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of our services when our wider management team is not ordinarily on site.
You will combine frontline operational duties with team leadership responsibilities, providing visible leadership and practical support to colleagues throughout your shifts.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working operationally across supported housing locations during night and weekend shifts.
- Leading by example and maintaining the professional standards expected of TriGuard colleagues.
- Supporting, guiding and motivating Care Wardens and Security Operatives working during out-of-hours periods.
- Acting as an escalation point for operational issues, incidents and concerns.
- Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, emergencies and incidents.
- Supporting the coordination of operational requirements where issues arise during the shift.
- Monitoring colleague performance and ensuring duties are being completed correctly.
- Conducting site visits, welfare checks, compliance checks and operational spot checks where required.
- Ensuring welfare checks, patrols, Daily Occurrence Logs, incident reports and other required documentation are completed accurately.
- Supporting colleagues with challenging situations involving residents, visitors or members of the public.
- Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, emergency services and management when necessary.
- Identifying concerns relating to service delivery and escalating them appropriately.
- Providing coaching, guidance and constructive feedback to colleagues.
- Supporting the induction and development of new colleagues where required.
- Ensuring company policies, site procedures, health and safety requirements and safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Providing clear and accurate handovers to the relevant management team following significant incidents or operational concerns.
This position has been specifically created to strengthen our out-of-hours leadership provision.
The successful candidate will spend the majority of their working time operationally deployed across our services and must be comfortable working independently, making decisions and supporting colleagues during nights and weekends.
A valid frontline SIA licence is required to undertake licensable security duties.
However, you do not necessarily need to hold an SIA licence before applying.
For an exceptional candidate who demonstrates the right leadership qualities, experience, attitude and suitability for the position, TriGuard will provide and fund the necessary SIA licence training , subject to the candidate meeting the relevant eligibility and vetting requirements.
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience supervising, leading or supporting a team.
- A confident and professional approach to leadership.
- The ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions during challenging situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good judgement and problem-solving ability.
- The confidence to challenge poor practice professionally when required.
- The ability to support and motivate colleagues while maintaining appropriate professional standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- The ability to work independently without continuous management supervision.
- Competence using Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn new systems and software.
Previous experience within security, supported housing, homelessness services, social care, safeguarding or another people-focused operational environment would be advantageous.
Formal leadership or management qualifications are desirable but are not essential where the candidate can demonstrate suitable practical leadership experience.
As this role involves working across different locations, applicants must:
- Hold a full valid UK driving licence.
- Have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Be prepared to travel between locations when required.
You may be required to work across West Yorkshire and surrounding areas, depending on operational requirements.
Our teams work within environments supporting individuals who may be vulnerable or have complex needs. Robust pre-employment screening is therefore an important part of our recruitment process.
Successful applicants will be required to complete the relevant pre-employment checks, including:
- 5 Year Employment History Check – you must provide a complete employment history covering the previous five years and account for any gaps.
- Employment References – previous employers may be contacted to verify employment information.
- Right to Work Checks.
- Relevant SIA vetting and licensing requirements where applicable.
- Any additional safeguarding or background checks required for the locations in which you will work.
