Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to keep the site safe, secure, clean and tidy. The role includes both security and cleaning duties as required.

Job Overview 

The Security and Cleaning Operative will help keep the site safe and clean. Duties include checking the premises, controlling access, responding to incidents, helping staff and visitors, and completing general cleaning tasks.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Increase site security by maintaining a constant presence across the facility.
• Monitor alarms, protect the site against unlawful access and perform routine security equipment tests.
• Conduct patrols, manage access control and monitor CCTV where authorised.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies.
• Complete daily occurrence reports for accidents and incidents, ensuring necessary action is taken.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed while controlling access for staff, visitors and contractors.
• Maintain a professional security presence.
• Provide cleaning cover when required.
• Undertake general cleaning duties in accordance with site specifications.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Follow COSHH and health and safety procedures.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are used correctly.
• Report defects, hazards, unsafe working practices and operational concerns.
• Where necessary, apply lawful restraint and control measures professionally.

Skills & Requirements

• A valid SIA licence - Door Supervisor/Security Guarding Licence (Essential)
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently
• Good organisational and reporting skills.
• Willingness to undertake additional training.
• Right to work in the UK
• Five-year checkable employment history, or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment
• Fluent in written and spoken English
