Retail Security Officer – Full-time | Day shifts  – Shopping centre in Grays, Essex

About the Role

We are recruiting a professional and presentable Retail Security Officer to join our team in a shopping centre in Grays, Essex

You will help create a safe and welcoming shopping environment, protect staff and customers, and prevent theft and other security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of designated areas.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft and antisocial behaviour.
• Identify and report security concerns.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents.
• Provide helpful, courteous customer service.
• Complete accurate incident reports and follow site procedures.

Requirements

• A valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor licence.
• A smart appearance and professional manner.
• Reliable transport or the ability to commute to Grays, Essex, for 10:00 starts and 22:00 finishes.
• The ability to undertake regular patrols throughout a 12-hour shift, with scheduled rest periods and breaks.
• Good communication and observation skills.
• The right to work in the UK.
• Five years of checkable address and employment/activity history, with HMRC employment records required as part of vetting.

Shift Pattern and Contract

• 12-hour day shifts: 10:00–22:00.
• Services operate daily; individual working days will be agreed on a rota basis.
• Temporary contract covering November and December.
• There may be opportunities for further work within our wider retail security portfolio after the temporary contract ends.
