Description
FRONT OF HOUSE SECURITY
Flexible shifts available across accommodation and residential sites
We are looking for confident, dependable people who can combine professional security with excellent customer service.
This is a varied front-of-house role suited to people who are comfortable dealing with residents, visitors and contractors while also taking responsibility for the security and day-to-day presentation of the property.
We have opportunities ranging from occasional cover shifts through to regular part-time and full-time hours.
Availability for evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and short-notice cover will be particularly useful.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
No two sites are exactly the same, but your duties may include:
• Manning reception and front-of-house areas
• Welcoming residents, visitors and contractors
• Controlling access to the building
• Monitoring CCTV and security systems
• Completing internal and external patrols
• Responding to incidents, alarms and emergencies
• Managing keys, fobs and access equipment
• Receiving and issuing parcels
• Completing site checks and reports
• Helping maintain communal areas and reception spaces
• Light housekeeping and litter picking
• Moving or rotating waste and recycling bins where required
• Carrying out basic facilities checks
• Supporting contractors and site management
This is a hands-on role.
If you are looking for a position where you simply sit at a security desk for the whole shift, this will not be the right fit.
HOURS
Shift patterns vary by location.
These may include:
• Days
• Nights
• Weekends
• Bank Holidays
• Short-notice cover
• 12-hour shifts
• Longer shifts at selected sites
• Fixed or flexible rotas
You are free to decide whether to accept ad-hoc work when offered. However, if you accept a shift, you are expected to attend and complete it.
Reliable people who perform well are likely to be offered additional work.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Applicants must have:
• A valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence
• The legal Right to Work in the UK
• Good spoken and written English
• Strong customer-service skills
• Confidence dealing with different types of people
• Good basic IT skills
• A professional appearance and attitude
• The ability to work independently
• Reliable transport or travel arrangements
• A flexible approach to duties
Previous experience in security, accommodation, residential buildings, hotels, hospitality, concierge or facilities management would be useful, but it is not essential.
VISA AND WORKING-HOUR RESTRICTIONS
Because many of our assignments involve long shifts, variable hours and changing weekly requirements, applicants must be legally able to work the hours associated with the role.
This position is not suitable for applicants restricted to 10 or 20 working hours per week under a Student visa, or anyone subject to other visa conditions that prevent them from undertaking the required shift patterns.
Right to Work documentation and any applicable restrictions will be checked before work is offered.
THE TYPE OF PERSON WE WANT
We are interested in people who:
• Turn up when they say they will
• Communicate well
• Stay calm when problems occur
• Treat residents and colleagues professionally
• Take pride in the property they are working in
• Notice problems rather than walking past them
• Are willing to help with the wider operation of the building
BEFORE YOU APPLY
We receive a high volume of applications.
Applicants must complete the additional questions and submit the requested video through the application link.
